Hello, and welcome to my blog! My name is Kim, and I am the founder of The Teachable Life LLC, a business consulting company that specializes in the small business and education industry.

Before I dive into what my business does, let me tell you a little bit about myself. I have always been passionate about helping others start their dream business or improve the one they already have. After some time working with a local Chamber of Commerce and later leaving my own successful business due to a desire to provide an alternative form of education for my children, I decided to start a new business – one that would focus on helping others in the education field. The Teachable Life was born out of my desire to help small businesses thrive while also serving the educational needs of my own children at the same time.

After my children experienced a few short stints in both public, private, and charter schools, I just wasn’t happy with the safety and quality of the education they were receiving. The overcrowded classrooms, the bullying and negative influences from peers, and the stress and exhaustion that affected teachers and staff—it all needed a better solution.

Nearly 10 years ago, I made the unpopular decision to remove my children from the traditional classroom and begin homeschooling. It wasn't all smooth sailing initially, but through trial and error, we found our groove. My children started to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally in this new form of education.

But there was still one problem – mom and dad needed to work! Balancing work and homeschooling seemed impossible, but I was determined to find a way. I discovered that in Colorado, where we live, it is legal to hire a licensed teacher to delegate some or all of the homeschooling responsibilities. However, finding a teacher willing to work with homeschoolers proved challenging. Many were unfamiliar with homeschooling and held outdated beliefs and biases about its effectiveness. After three years of searching, I finally found Ms. Brooke, a licensed teacher who shared our vision and wanted to start her own tutoring business.

Ms. Brooke became an extended member of our family, bringing her expertise and passion for education to our homeschooling journey. Together, with her knowledge and teaching skills, and my knowledge of growing a business, we both formed a powerful working relationship and our own individual businesses, which led me to create The Teachable Life. This exciting business venture allows me to provide high-quality business and education services, coaching, mentorship, and resources to educators who may also desire to break free from the traditional classroom setting and start their own educational businesses.

What sets me apart is my personal approach and dedication to customer service. I believe that by reaching out a helping hand, I can make the world a better place and help individuals achieve the life they desire. The Teachable Life community is built on support, encouragement, and compassion.
